The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI)
ETSI produces globally-applicable standards for Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), including fixed, mobile, radio, converged, broadcast and internet technologies. We are an independent, not-for-profit industry association whose 766 member organizations define and participate directly in the standards work. Currently our members are drawn from 63 countries across 5 continents worldwide.
In addition to having a global vision we are officially recognized by the European Union as a European Standards Organization, which gives us a leading role in defining the technical framework for European ICT regulation.
ETSI’s M2M committee seeks to provide an end-to-end view of Machine to Machine standardization, co-operating closely with ETSI’s activities on Next Generation Networks, and also with the work of the 3GPP standards initiative for mobile communication technologies. The Wavenis Open Standard Alliance is an independent, non-profit organization that promotes and coordinates Wavenis technology efforts worldwide. Its members are recognized leaders in the M2M industry, bringing together a wealth of experience and expertise. As a technology standards body, Wavenis-OSA is leading the Wavenis technology roadmap, publishing the public specifications for the Wavenis communication platform and working to define M2M application services to meet ever-evolving market demands.
